On July 20th, 2020 around 11:30PM, SPD was dispatched to a shooting near E. Spokane Falls Blvd and N. Division St.  Upon arrival, officers saw the male victim lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound in his foot.  He was conscious and breathing and did not have any other injuries.

A witness stated that she observed the victim and his group of friends arguing with two males.  She then observed the victim and his group of friends running away eastbound from the two males through the Best Western parking lot and jumping a chain link fence into an empty lot.  As the victim was jumping over the fence the witness heard gunshots and noticed he had been shot.  The victim’s friends helped carry him to Fast Eddies.

According to the Victim, his friend group had just left Chili’s when a vehicle pulled up and two males exited the vehicle.  As the group was walking away, an argument ensued between the group and the two males from the car.  The group kept walking and as they were in the Best Western parking lot they noticed the males from the car were now wearing full ski masks.  This alarmed the group and they began to run.  As the group reached the chain link fence at the other side of the parking lot, the victim hopped the fence and heard a shot and felt pain in his foot.  The suspects fled the scene and the victim’s friends carried him to Fast Eddies and asked for help.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

SPD officers recovered two 9mm spent shell casings from the Best Western parking lot.
