SPD arrests barricaded suspect after near 4 four standoff

Spokane Police arrested Michael Greene 8-26-81 this afternoon following a standoff at the 300 block of E. Lacrosse Ave. Officers identified a stolen vehicle at the location and witnessed the suspect running from the vehicle to a residence. Police had information that Greene was armed and dangerous prompting SPD resources including SWAT, Hostage Negotiations, and the Bearcat to be deployed.

The incident began about 12:15 on 6/23/2021 and just after 4pm, after speaking with negotiators, Greene exited the residence and surrendered without further incident. Green is a convicted felon. He was arrested on new felony charges related to the stolen vehicle as well as outstanding felony warrants. Additional charges are pending. After obtaining a search warrant, officers remained on scene searching the residence for crime evidence and have recovered several firearms.

Neighbors around the 300 block of E. Lacrosse were notified by alert of the situation. The alert has since been cancelled and the area has been opened back up.
