Auto-pedestrian collision in Downtown Spokane sends one person to the hospital in critical condition
At 2:30PM on 12/08/2023, SPD South Precinct and Downtown Precinct Units responded to the area of 4th and Maple on an Auto vs. Pedestrian collision.
The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. At this early point in the investigation, it does not appear impairment or speed were factors in the collision.
Witness accounts indicate the pedestrian was crossing the road in violation of traffic laws.
Traffic in the immediate area was impacted with roads shut down for several hours. All roads have now reopened.
