On April 22nd, 2026 around 7 a.m., a Spokane police officer responded to the area of 7000 N Colton for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Around 8:10 a.m. a Spokane city employee called 911 to report a vehicle driving recklessly with a flat tire, almost hitting several vehicles around 7th Ave and Inland Empire Way. The vehicle’s license plate, given by the caller, matched the stolen vehicle reported about an hour prior. The caller reported the vehicle had come to a stop.

Two city park rangers in the area contacted witnesses and were able to get a description of the suspected driver. Moments later Spokane police officers located the suspect under the Sunset Bridge and attempted to contact him. The male refused to follow commands and ran from the officers through High Bridge Park, eventually making his way into Latah Creek. Officers on scene requested medics and fire rescue in the event the male was unable to get out. The male was able to get out and continued to run from police. As this incident continued, the male made several threatening statements to officers, to include threatening to blow up officers with a grenade if they went near him. The male eventually got back into the creek where he sat on a rock and refused to get out. Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and the male eventually surrendered peacefully.

Once the male was in custody, officers searched him incident to arrest and located the key to the stolen vehicle in his pocket.

Parker Linder (22) was arrested for multiple local warrants (one for Assault 2nd Degree), as well as new charges of Obstructing a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. Linder was booked into the Spokane County Jail where he remains in custody.
