No injuries in early morning house fire

At approximately 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, the Spokane Fire Department responded to the 800 block of W. 8th Ave. for a reported residence on fire.

Arriving crews found a home filled smoke. Firefighters ensured the house was evacuated and extinguished the fire located in the rear of the residence.

The fire caused smoke damage to the entire home and fire damage to the rear wall of the residence.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Spokane Fire Department’s Special Investigation Unit. The initial cause of the fire is thought to be electrical in nature.
