High Drive from 29th Avenue to Bernard Street is scheduled to reopen to traffic Friday, Nov. 7 at 4 p.m. The project finished on time and on budget.

Major construction shut down High Drive over the summer. Phase One of the project was originally scheduled to begin in the spring of 2014 but in spite of the delay, crews completed the work 19 working days earlier than planned.

Phase One of construction on High Drive included work to make the area more pedestrian-friendly with bike paths and sidewalks. The project not only added aesthetically pleasing qualities but also functionality to the well-travelled area. Phase One construction also included pavement reconstruction, CSO storage facilities, storm, sewer, swales, and water main replacement from 29th Avenue to Bernard Street.

Phase Two of the High Drive project, Bernard Street to Scott Street, is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2015.
