City Seeks Applicants for West Quadrant TIF Advisory Committee

Updated: 10/25/2017 - 12:54 p.m.

The City of Spokane is seeking residents who would like to help determine how to spend a portion of the funds raised by the Tax Increment Financing district adjacent to the Kendall Yards project.

Tax-Increment Financing is an economic development tool established by the State of Washington used to help pay for publicly owned streets, sewers, sidewalks, parks, and other improvements.

A West Quadrant TIF Advisory Committee was formed when the TIF district was created in 2009 for the purpose of making recommendations for funding and prioritization of identified neighborhood projects.

Several people are needed for the committee, including one resident each from the West Central, and Riverside neighborhoods and two people who live in the City and have experience in economic development, finance, or real estate.

Interested individuals are asked to fill out the City’s boards and commission application form, and to submit it to the Mayor’s Office on the fifth floor of City Hall, 808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., by Friday, Nov. 30.
