The City of Spokane Parks and Recreation Division will host a “Thank You Spokane” event to thank the Spokane community for passing the Bond to revitalize Riverfront Park. The event will be held this coming Saturday, June 6, 2015, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm, in Riverfront Park. “Thank You Spokane” will offer free park rides all day for the first 10,000 attendees, a prize raffle, $1 hot dogs, a beer garden, and live music from local artists.

“The ‘Thank You Spokane’ event is our way of expressing our gratitude to the community for supporting the revitalization of the centerpiece of our community,” said Park Board President, Chris Wright.

“This event is a celebration of our past and our future. Most of us have fond memories of Riverfront Park. The ‘Thank You Spokane’ event is an opportunity to create more memories and celebrate the exciting changes yet to come,” said Parks and Recreation Director, Leroy Eadie.

The “Thank You Spokane” event is Saturday, June 6th from 10:30am-6pm at Riverfront Park (check in at Riverfront Park’s Rotary Fountain located just north of the W. Spokane Falls Blvd and N. Howard St. intersection).

Riverfront Park Renovation

The $64-million Bond to revitalize Riverfront Park was overwhelmingly approved by voters (68.5%) in November of 2014. The passing of this bond will not increase citizen taxes. Riverfront Park renovations are set to begin sometime after Labor Day 2015.
