Patrol Anti Crime Team arrests prolific car thief

Patrol Anti Crime Team (PACT) arrests prolific car thief and five-time convicted felon less than three weeks after he was released from jail; 34-year-old Anthony Carson booked for Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle and 3 counts of 2ndDegree Theft (Access Device).

On 02-04-13 around 11 a.m. Spokane Police PACT officers observed a stolen Subaru in the area of Monroe/Maxwell. Officers blocked in the vehicle at nearby intersection to avoid a pursuit with the vehicle. The driver, 34-year-old Anthony Carson, was taken into custody. Officers were able to link him to two vehicles stolen that morning. They booked him into jail for Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and 2ndTheft (Access Device) x3.

Carson was released from jail on 1-16-14 for 3rd Degree Theft and 3rdDegree Possession of Stolen Property. He has five felony convictions for 2ndDegree Possession of Stolen Property, 2ndDegree Taking Motor Vehicle Without Permission, Riot with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Attempt to Elude. He also has misdemeanor convictions for Vehicle Prowling (x2), 3rdDegree Theft (x2), DUI (x2), 3rdDegree Driving with a Suspended License (x2), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana.
