Suspect accused of grabbing young girl, refusing to let go

Spokane Police have arrested Jose L. Jiminez (42) for Unlawful Imprisonment. Jiminez is accused of grabbing an 11-year-old girl by the arm in Coeur d'Alene Park and refusing to let go. He was confronted by another adult and then left the location on foot. He was located at a nearby grocery store. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Tonight, April 7, 2015, at approximately 7:00 pm, Spokane Police responded to a report of an attempted child abduction at Coeur d'Alene Park (2100 W. 3rd Ave.).
The caller reported that an adult man, identified as 42-year-old Jose L. Jiminez, had approached an 11-year-old girl, grabbed her arm and would not let go. The caller yelled at the man and he left the location on foot.
The caller gave a good suspect description to 911 dispatchers, who relayed the information to officers. Officers located Jiminez at the Rosauers (1800 W. 3rd Ave.) and arrested him for Unlawful Imprisonment.
The 11-year-old female victim was not hurt.
Investigation into this incident is ongoing.
