The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is investigating the death of a male in north Spokane. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
On 06-20-16 a little before 5:30PM, Spokane Police received a call of an injured male who was in the roadway at the 1600 block of east Columbia Ave.
Officers, as well as members of the Spokane Fire Department and AMR ambulance, arrived on scene and located a male in the roadway with apparent traumatic injuries. Life saving measures were unsuccessful and the subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Right now officers are interviewing a number of people, as well as processing the scene. SPD Major Crimes detectives will be taking over the investigation. Citizens are asked to use alternative routes as east Columbia between Helena and Pittsburg will be closed for several hours.
At this time SPD does not believe there is an on-going risk to the public. Anyone who may have information about this incident who has not spoken with officers is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
