The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit is continuing their investigation into an incident in north Spokane last night where a male, Dustin L. Maclean (26), was found injured in the road. Maclean died at the scene.

Yesterday, June 20, 2016 just before 5:30pm, Spokane Police received a call of an injured male who was in the roadway at the 1600 block of east Columbia Ave.

Officers as well as members of the Spokane Fire Department and AMR arrived on scene and located Maclean, still in the road, with apparent injuries to his face. Life saving measures were attempted, but Maclean was pronounced dead at the scene.

There had been reports of an explosion in the area approximately 15 minutes prior to the call to check on Maclean’s welfare, but at this time, investigators do not believe the two incidents are related. Major Crimes detectives also do not believe there is any danger to the community nor any outstanding suspects at this time.

The Spokane Police Department appreciates the assistance and patience of the neighborhood impacted by this incident last night.
