Robbery Suspect McLaughlin Arrested

Spokane Police arrested David C. McLaughlin (26) for multiple counts of 1st Degree Robbery and 1st Degree Assault. While being taken into custody, McLaughlin attempted to access a loaded gun, but officers were able to safely disarm him. The originally robbery incident occurred in the 200 block of S. Wall St. on September 16, 2016.

On September 17, 2016 a victim reported an armed robbery that occurred the previous day. The robbery took place in the 200 block of S. Wall. The victim reported that during the robbery McLaughlin produced a pistol and forced him to turn over his valuables.

Using a variety of resources detectives were able to positively identify David C. McLaughlin as the suspect.

On September 22, 2016 at approximately 1:00pm detectives received information McLaughlin was in the area of Dutch Jake Park in the 2000 block of W. Broadway. Major Crimes and Targeted Crimes detectives arrived in the area immediately, located McLaughlin and while being taken into custody he attempted to access a gun. After a short struggle, detectives took him into custody without injuries to McLaughlin or detectives.

McLaughlin was booked into Spokane County Jail on two counts of 1st degree Robbery and two counts of 1st degree Assault.

This investigation is ongoing and we will update it as appropriate. Additional charges may be forthcoming.
