Kids, learn about safety and become a Junior Police Officer

Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:50 a.m.

The Spokane Police Department (SPD), the Downtown Spokane Partnership and River Park Square are partnering to present Junior Police Academy. This free, family event will be held at River Park Square, Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

“We are so excited about the continuation of Junior Police Academy,” says Elizabeth Hooker. “It’s a fun opportunity for kiddos to meet their local law enforcement while learning about safety in our community.”

Junior Police Academy is open to “kids” of all ages, and will provide an opportunity for attendees to meet and greet with Spokane Police Department officers and other downtown security agencies, engage in a Mobius Children’s Museum Craft, learn about the SPD K-9 Unit and Mounted Patrol, explore law enforcement vehicles and dress up like an officer. Local C.O.P.S. volunteers will be in hand with Kids ID Kits. Kids can collect stamps at each activity and receive a Junior Police Officer certificate.

We hope to see you there!
