North Spokane sees a spike in residential burglaries in the last week of June. The Spokane Police Department makes three burglary arrests during that spike however, all three suspects were released within two days.
During the week of June 23rd to June 29th there were 21 residential burglaries in North Spokane. This is up from the 9 burglaries those neighborhoods experienced the week before. The Police department made 3 arrests of burglary suspects while the suspects were still at the victim’s homes during this spike.
All three suspects were charged with Residential Burglary and Malicious Mischief. Two of them were released the next day on their own recognizance, one of the suspects was also charged with drug crimes but was too ill to make his first appearance in court, he was released after two days.
SPD has been focusing on this area as a “hot spot” and general area of emphasis for some time. As all three men are back out in the community this week we will continue to give extra attention in these neighborhoods.
