Burglary Arrest

The Spokane Police Department responded to an alarm call at the Arc of Spokane in the late night hours. When Officers arrived on scene several males ran from the store and were later caught. Two people were detain at the front of the store attempting to walk away. In all, several hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise was recovered and four people were booked into jail.

On August 4^th, 2019 Officers responded to an alarm call at the Arc of Spokane thrift store, 808 N Ruby. When the first Officer arrived on scene he noticed several people walking away from the business. As he got closer, two of the males took off running. The Officer gave chase and located one of the males (33 year old Shawn Flewell) hiding under a vehicle in the adjacent parking lot. Flewell was removed from under the vehicle and detained. It was then discovered that the he attempted to hide jewelry up inside the frame of the vehicle. The jewelry was later discovered to be stolen from the store.

Other Officers had responded to the store shortly after. There they first detained 33 year old Kristina Collins. 49 year old Thomas Eldredge attempted to just walk out of the parking lot and pretend he did not know what was going on. He was also detained for the investigation.

K-9 Zeus arrived onscene and searched the area for the other male who got away. Zeus located 25 year old Austin Warriner about 200 yards away, hiding in a bush. Warriner was treated for a minor dog bite at the hospital and later booked into jail.

All four people were interviewed and there was surveillance video. It showed three of the four people entering the store. They stole jewelry from the counter, took laptop computers and a power tool. Two of the males tried to get into the cash registers. The fourth person stayed outside and was acting as a lookout for the group.

All four suspects were booked for 2^nd degree burglary and 3^rd degree theft. Below is the conviction only, history of each person involved.

Thomas Eldredge: Criminal mischief with a deadly weapon, Robbery 2^nd degree, Theft 1^st degree, Assault 3^rd degree and resisting arrest.

Austin Warriner: 7 counts of Theft 1^st degree, Felon in possession of a firearm, Malicious mischief 2^nd degree, Assault 3^rd degree, Theft 3^rd degree, Assault 4^th degree, MIP and Negligent driving 1^st degree (DUI).

Shawn Flewell: Assault 2^nd degree, Assault 3^rd degree and Assault 4^th degree.

Kristina Collins: 2 counts of Theft 3^rd degree, Identity theft 2^nd degree, supplying alcohol to a minor, Driving with license suspended and possession of drug paraphernalia.
