Arrest made in overnight shooting. Spokane Police respond to shooting in northeast Spokane. The victim provided suspect information which led to Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputies locating the suspect near Market Street and Hawthorne Road.

On October 23, 2019, just after midnight, Spokane Police Department (SPD) patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Sanson Avenue and Regal Street. Officers located the victim who had a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The victim reported a former business partner shot him in the leg, then struck him on the head with a handgun. The victim described the suspect’s vehicle which led to it being located by deputies from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office in the area of Market Street and Hawthorne Road. Deputies stopped and detained Michael R. Greene (38).

SPD arrested Greene for Assault 1st degree. His truck was seized while a search warrant was sought to process the vehicle for evidence.

A criminal history inquiry revealed Green has felony convictions for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Attempting to Elude which precludes Greene from lawfully possessing firearms.
