One Person Detained after Fatal Stabbing

Spokane Police have detained an adult male after a fatal stabbing that occurred downtown this morning. This is an ongoing Major Crimes investigation, so details are limited at this time.

Just after 11:00am this morning, November 10, 2024, Spokane Police were called to the report of a stabbing in the 100 block of west 3rd Avenue. Officers were on scene within 3 minutes and had a subject safely detained shortly after arriving. Officers also provided first aid to the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene despite the lifesaving efforts of officers and medics.

This is an ongoing investigation at this time. The relationship between the detained suspect and the victim is unknown, but there is currently no danger to the public from this incident. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office will release the victim’s name and manner of death.
