We are inviting up to 100 City of Spokane Water Department residential customers to participate in our inaugural Water Wise Challenge this summer. Save water throughout Spokane's hottest months of July & August, and compete to earn credit toward your utility bill. Your only competition is yourself, so no matter how heavy or light your water-use typically is, everyone has an equal chance to win.
Credits begin at a minimum 10% reduction in use, which qualifies for a $50 rebate - and it only goes up from there! $100 rebates for those who reduce by 20%, $200 rebates for those who reduce by 30%, and the grand-prize household that saves the most gallons wins a $300 utility bill credit!
Check out the contest rules and enter the Water Wise Challenge online by July 15th. The registration is a quick, easy, and fun 3-step process. Once you sign-up, the Water Conservation Office will email your water consumption numbers from the 2019 summer season, and then your household can begin setting goals to reduce your use this year. We're here to help with tips for reducing indoor and outdoor water use, as well as rebate programs for updating appliances and other water wasters.
If you have a beautiful water-saving yard, then do we have a utility bill credit opportunity for you! If you are a City of Spokane Water Customer and have water-smart, drought-tolerant landscaping: simply snap a photo, share it on social media using the hashtag #spokanescapecontest and you'll automatically be entered to win up to $250 in credit (deadline September 30).
The top three finalists will be posted on Facebook and our followers will vote on their favorite water wise landscape. For customers that are not using social media, you can enter the photo contest online.
