There are plenty of ways to enjoy the holiday season here in Spokane! Here's a list of festive activities offered through Parks & Recreation and our partners.

Friday, November 27
Festivities from 4 – 7pm, tree lighting at 6pm
Join us at the plaza adjacent to the Numerica Skate Ribbon for holiday entertainment, tasty treats, a visit from Santa, and the annual tree lighting ceremony!
Numerica and Riverfront are proud to shine light on Spokane’s superstars at this year’s event, and invite the community to explore ways to give and serve others. Learn about the incredible work many of our local non-profit, community-centered organizations are doing to make Spokane a great place to live.
Stop by informational booths and participate in activities presented by Habitat for Humanity, Embrace Washington, Joya Child and Family Development, Women and Children’s Free Restaurant, JDRF, Meals on Wheels, Isaac Foundation, Volunteers of America, YWCA, Northwest Autism, Women Helping Women Fund, American Child Cancer Organization, Family Promise of Spokane, Jewels Helping Hands and many more!
The evening will also launch Riverfront's Light up the Night event with the spectacular Trail of Lights and Community Tree Display.
Parks & Recreation

The Holiday Tree Walk aims to shine light on Spokane's non-profit, community centered organizations; groups are invited to decorate a tree highlighting their organization’s mission. View the window display and outdoor trees at the Riverfront Pavilion.
In addition to the decorated trees, visit the Trail of Lights all around the park! Take in the magic of Candy Cane Lane along the Howard Street Promenade, a light tunnel under the historic blue bridge, Pavilion light show, and more.

Music from Noon – 9pm
Every year, the Extreme Team lights up Cowley Park for the kids at the Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital. This year, a few additional trees will be decorated, and inspirational messages will fill the sidewalks. Learn more!

Riding on the success of last year's drive-thru holiday lights event, the Manito Holiday Lights will be even more spectacular this year thanks to generous sponsors and partners. Plus, we've added walk-thru days, Dec 17-19, just for pedestrians! Grab some hot cocoa from home and explore twinkling, festive lights in one of our city's most historic parks!

Enjoy an 8-minute loop through the wonders of Riverfront Park. Wheatland Bank Horse and Carriage Rides will run past the iconic holiday tree, the Rotary Fountain, through the Riverfront Light up the Night show, and past the Pavilion. Pre-registration required. Free. More info.

Riverfront's Winter Market is back by popular demand! Shop local this holiday season with a variety of local farmers, processors, artisans, and hand crafters.

Glide along the ribbon of ice downtown, amidst the glow of holiday lights! Masks and social distancing will be required this year, but reservations will not be required. Don’t miss this iconic Spokane holiday experience! Check out our weekly specials, like Cheap Skate Tuesdays where we offer free skate rentals and food deals, on our website.

November 18, we offer "Thanksgiving Sides to Impress" where you'll learn to make four creative side dishes for the holiday. December 9, enjoy "Perfect Appetizers for Any Party”" and learn several delicious options to bring to your next gathering. Ages 21+.

Make art together with your preschooler! Ages 3-5 will love these holiday activities with you. Join us for the Turkey Jubilee on November 20, where we will make a giant gobbler, and December 4, where we’ll craft ornaments.

Therapeutic Recreation Services hosts this Christmas dance for people with developmental disabilities. Celebrate the season by wearing red and green, and come rock and swing with us!

Cross country skiing is a wonderful way to spend time with family and friends outdoors this winter. Come learn the basics at Mt. Spokane from certified instructors. We provide the gear and a 2-hour lesson, and you can enjoy the gear for the rest of the day as you perfect your skills.
