The Egypt National Team will hold an open training session for a select group of ticketed fans at Gonzaga University’s Luger Field on June 10 at 12 p.m., as the Pharaohs prepare for FIFA World Cup 2026™.
The event will provide the limited number of fans and community members a rare opportunity to see one of Africa’s most storied footballing nations train in Spokane before beginning group-stage play. This is a free event for fans, but tickets through the City of Spokane are required. Due to FIFA and Egypt regulations, tickets are extremely limited for the training session, distributed through random selection, and will be limited to a maximum of two (2) tickets per claim. The ticket claim form, located by clicking here, will go live Wednesday at 9 a.m., and close at 9 p.m. Additional details, including gate times, parking information and event policies, will be included in the ticket claim.
Media interested in covering the training session should contact Barrett Henderson and Erin Hut. Credentialed media outlets may request up to two media passes per organization.
“We are thrilled to welcome the Spokane community to Gonzaga University for this special opportunity to see the Egypt National Team prepare for the world stage,” said Gonzaga University President Katia Passerini. “Being selected as a Team Base Camp Training Site for FIFA World Cup 2026™ is an extraordinary honor for Gonzaga and Spokane, and this open training session will allow our community to share in the excitement of this global event.”
The City of Spokane and Gonzaga University were selected as Egypt’s Team Base Camp Training Site for FIFA World Cup 2026™. Team Base Camps serve as a “home away from home” for national teams throughout the tournament, providing a centralized location for training sessions, player workouts, team meetings and staff operations.
“We are eagerly awaiting the Pharaohs’ arrival and are excited for Spokane to experience this once-in-a-generation moment,” said Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown. “This open training session is a wonderful way for our community to show its support, celebrate the global game and welcome Egypt to the Lilac City.”
Egypt will make its fourth FIFA World Cup™ appearance in 2026. The Pharaohs are seven-time Africa Cup of Nations champions and are led by head coach Hossam Hassan and a talented squad featuring Premier League standout Mohamed Salah.
Egypt’s FIFA World Cup 2026™ group-stage schedule includes matches against Belgium on June 15 in Seattle, New Zealand on June 21 in Vancouver, B.C., and Iran on June 26 in Seattle.
Gonzaga’s Luger Field will serve as the team’s training site during its stay in Spokane. Opened in 2008, Luger Field is considered one of the premier soccer facilities on the West Coast and includes two pitches, a press box, plaza, lighting, videoboard and nearby team meeting space.
