Two projects will significantly impact north and south motorist travel beginning Monday, June 8. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow for extra time, and be alert for frequent traffic changes. Please slow down for everyone’s safety and make extra effort to support businesses impacted by the necessary projects. Current obstruction information impacting drivers in the City is available on the construction webpage.
Maple-Walnut Grind and Overlay – 4TH Avenue to Maple Street Bridge
Beginning Monday, June 8, lane reductions will be in place between 4th Avenue and the Maple Street Bridge on southbound Maple Street and northbound Walnut Street. The Maple Street Bridge will be closed in both directions June 11, through Thursday, June 25. This grind and overlay project to resurface Maple Street and Walnut Street between 4th Avenue and the bridge is the continuation of the project that was postponed from 2025 due to an industry strike. The complete and continuous closure of the bridge allows the maximum safety for construction workers and minimizes the amount of overall obstruction time.
