Free swim at all six City of Spokane Parks & Recreation aquatic centers is just around the corner! Pools open Monday, June 18. Register today for your free SplashPass.

SplashPass

Much like a library card, a SplashPass is your free pass to all City of Spokane aquatic centers. Admission to the pools is free, but a no-cost SplashPass is required for all ages. There is not a limited number of SplashPasses, and everyone is welcome. SplashPasses provide:

  • Free admission during Open, Lap, and Parent Tot Open swim hours, plus family nights
  • Notification of pool events and closures (opt-out available)
  • Acknowledgement and acceptance of important pool rules that are in place for your safety

Ways to Get your SplashPass

  • SpokaneParks.org/aquatics
  • Call 311 and press 3 (or call 509.755.2489)
  • Attend an Open House at the pool on Saturday, June 9
    • 9 – 11am at Comstock, Witter or Shadle
    • 1 – 3pm at Liberty, A.M. Cannon or Hillyard
  • Visit City Hall (808 W. Spokane Falls Blvd.), Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
  • At Witter Pool (1300 E. Mission, open for lap swim only), Monday – Friday 11:30am – 2pm
  • At all pools when they open June 18

Registration takes less than 5 minutes. Parent/Guardian must sign the rules for children under 18.

The SplashPass is phase I of a new Parks and Recreation software aimed at making registrations easier. A full software rollout for all Parks and Recreation activities will happen in fall.

Providing Free Swim

Parks and Recreation and the Park Board would like to reduce barriers for the community to access open swim times across all neighborhoods and to increase attendance for open swim, especially at underutilized pools. We also have a goal of helping more kids learn to swim, so they have this important life skill and benefit from the health aspects of swimming.

Enjoy free open, parent-tot and lap swimming, plus family nights. Swim lessons, novice swim team, aquatics fitness programs, and pool rentals will continue to have affordable, family-friendly rates. Read more.

Swim Lessons & Clinics

Affordable swim lessons are available at all pools for a variety of ages and skills. A limited number of swim lesson scholarships are available, thanks to a partnership with the USA Swimming Foundation and the Spokane Parks Foundation.

Free Swim Clinics are available this summer thanks to the Spokane Parks Foundation. Lessons will be available for ages 3-15 on Saturdays, June 23 – August 11. Preregistration is required. Register for free swim clinics.

Family Nights, Parent Tot Swim & Senior Swim

Back by popular demand, we’re hosting another round of Family Nights - exclusive pool parties open only to families. Enjoy free swimming, food, music and fun from 6:30 – 8:00 at these locations:

June 22:

Shadle

August 3:

A.M. Cannon

July 6:

Hillyard

August 17:

Comstock

July 20:

Liberty

Parent Tot Open Swim is a calm and exclusive swim time for parents and children 0-7. Senior Swim is a calm swim for seniors in the lap area of the pool.

Food at the Pools

Concessions are no longer offered at pools, as part of the cost savings that allowed us to provide free swim. Outside food and drinks are welcome inside the pool area, so pack a snack! Please no alcohol, glass containers, or BBQs.

Splash Pads

Most splash pads open Memorial Day, May 28. There are 17 splash pads across the city with a variety of amenities. Splash pads are free and open 9 A.M. – 8 P.M. Four splash pads will open slightly later in mid-June: Manito, Mission, Grant and Nevada parks. For updates on splash pad and pool temporary closures, or to report any issues, please call the aquatics hotline at 509.625.6960.
