Spokane Police respond to a report of an Armed Robbery at a pharmacy in north Spokane. Less than 2 hours later the suspect, 23-year-old Eric D. Bordner was arrested for 1st Degree Robbery.
Last night, February 2, 2014, at 9:50 p.m., Spokane Police received a report of an armed robbery at the Walgreens pharmacy (12 E. Empire in Spokane). SPD Patrol officers were on-scene in less than three minutes.
Witnesses told officers a white male had entered the store, displayed a gun, and demanded prescription medication. He then fled on foot.
SPD officers set up a secure perimeter and initiated a K-9 track, however they did not locate the suspect.
SPD officers continued to investigate the incident, interviewing witnesses and those in the surrounding area, as well as following up on other leads. Just after 11 p.m., police received a call from an individual identifying himself as the man who had robbed Walgreens pharmacy earlier in the night. SPD Patrol officers quickly responded to a residence where the suspect said he was located, 4300 E. Mission. He was interviewed, admitted to robbing the pharmacy and was arrested on charges of 1st Degree Robbery.
The gun believed to be the gun shown by the suspect during the robbery was recovered. It was determined the gun was a realistic-looking airsoft handgun.
Bordner will appear in court today at 1:30 p.m.
