The Spokane Police Department (SPD) has arrested Ashley S. Horning (25) for the homicide at 2100 E. Cataldo Avenue.

This morning, January 24, 2019, at approximately 9:23am, officers were sent to a shooting at 2100 E. Cataldo Avenue. The suspect, Ashley Horning, allegedly shot an adult inside the residence then fled the area on foot.

Numerous officers and specialty teams were on scene in an attempt to locate Horning. An SPD K9 unit, accompanied by on duty SWAT officers, tracked from the location but were not able to locate her.

Major Crimes Detectives were on scene to interview witnesses and obtain a search warrant to collect evidence from the crime scene.

Approximately two hours after the homicide, SPD received a call providing information that Horning was in a parking lot at 900 E. Mission Avenue. Officers located Horning there and took her into custody without incident.

Horning was taken to the detectives’ office then booked into the Spokane County Jail for Murder 2nd Degree.

At the time of this release, the investigation was still ongoing and no further details were available.
