Friday, Aug. 23, the Spokane Police Department’s PACT Officers had multiple subjects flee from them on a traffic stop. Officers conducting the stop recognized one of the subjects as Anthony Gibson (26 years old). Anthony had two felony warrants out for his arrest and there was information regarding Anthony possibly being armed with a firearm.

Spokane Police PACT Officers later observed Anthony in a Ford Explorer at W 10th Ave/S Cherry St. Officers then made a stop on the vehicle. During the stop Anthony refused to comply with police commands to exit the vehicle. Due to Anthony being unwilling to leave the vehicle, the stop became a barricaded situation and SWAT officers and a K9 unit were called to the scene. Once SWAT arrived on scene verbal commands were given and Anthony was eventually taken into custody on his felony warrants.
