On April 6, 2020 around 6:30 AM Spokane Police responded to a residential burglary call near the 5200 block of W. Alderwood.

The victim was loading items into their vehicle through the garage and briefly went inside to collect a few more things.  When the victim headed back out to their vehicle they saw Megan Tureman (32) in the garage attempting to take a bag full of the victim’s possessions.  The victim yelled at Tureman, who dropped the bag, ran to a waiting car, hopped in the passenger seat, and the car drove away.  Acting quickly, the victim was able to get a description of the vehicle and license plate number.

Spokane Police Officers responded and stopped the suspect vehicle shortly after the call came in and arrested Tureman along with the driver of the getaway vehicle, Duane Yarnell (51). Both Tureman and Yarnell were charged with residential burglary.

Yarnell has a lengthy criminal history with pages of local arrests spanning back to 1995. His criminal career includes seven incidents in 2019 with multiple arrests for illegal drug possession and theft.  He finished out 2019 by stealing Christmas presents on Christmas Eve.
