Two Repeat Offenders Arrested

Two repeat offenders with 21 prior felony convictions each arrested for multiple additional felonies after being located in a stolen trailer with guns and drugs

On May 2, 2022 at approximately 8:30pm, Spokane police officers responded to the 1100 block of E Bismark Ave after a citizen reported locating a stolen recreational vehicle trailer they had seen in a social media post.

Responding officers located the trailer, confirmed it was stolen, and determined it was occupied by two males, Matthew McNeil (48) and Daniel Skjold (31). Officers were given permission to search the trailer by its owner. Inside, they found large quantities of suspected methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, and “mexi” fentanyl pills. Two firearms were located, one of which had been reported stolen.

Both McNeil and Skjold are 21 time convicted felons. Among McNeil’s prior felony charges are Attempt to Elude, Burglary 2nd Degree, Residential Burglary, Theft-1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Possession of Stolen Property-2nd Degree. Among Skjold’s prior felony charges are Trafficking in Stolen Property-1st Degree, Residential Burglary, Burglary-2nd Degree, Manufacturing/Delivery of Methamphetamine, and multiple counts of Possession of Stolen Property-2nd Degree. Their felony convictions preclude them from possessing firearms.

McNeil was arrested for two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Control Substance with Intent, Theft-1st Degree, Possession of Stolen Property-3rd Degree, and Possession of Motor Vehicle Theft Tools. Skjold was arrested for two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 1st Degree, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent.
