Health Sciences & Services Authority (HSSA) of Spokane County

Authorized by and Date: The Health Sciences & Services Authority Board is authorized effective on February 24, 1992.

Mission Statement/Purpose: The health sciences and services was established by the Washington legislature to promote bioscience-based economic development in Spokane County, and to advance new therapies and procedures to combat disease and to promote public health.

Membership: The board of 9 members includes 3 members appointed by the Governor, 3 members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, and 3 members appointed by the Mayor. Up to 5 additional members may be appointed by the Board. A full list of board members can be found on the official HSSA website.

Terms: 4 years from the date of appointment after the inaugural one, 2 or 3 year terms.
